About the 2018 China 1 Gram Gold Panda Coin BU (Sealed)

Since being 1st struck in 1982, the Chinese Gold Panda coin is the official gold bullion coin of the People’s Republic of China. The coins were originally available in weights of 1, 0.5, 0.25, and 0.1 troy ounces. In 1983 the Chinese Mint added a smaller 0.05 troy ounce gold coin to the official program’s product line, and later phased in 12 & 5 oz coins over time.

This 1 gram China gold Panda coin is very popular with bullion and coin collectors allowing it to garner very high bid and ask premiums all over the world.

In 2016 China released the Chinese Gold Panda coin with weights in grams (rather than troy ounces) to better match the nation’s standard system of weights. The Chinese Mint’s 6 bullion coin product line includes 5 gold Panda coins (1, 3, 8, 15, and 30 grams) and 1 silver Panda coin (weighing 30 grams).

Coin highlights:

  • Has 1 gram of .999 fine gold or 0.0321507 troy ounce.
  • Maximum mintage set at 600,000 distributed worldwide.
  • Has a legal tender face value of ¥10 (Yuan).
  • Ships in its original People's Bank of China sealed plastic covering.
  • Eligible for your Precious Metal Gold IRA.
  • The front of the coin has a brand new Panda design for 2018.
  • The coin’s legal tender face value, gram weight, precious metal gold content (Au), and fine (999) purity are engraved on its front side.
  • The coin’s backside is stamped with Beijing’s Temple of Heaven, the ”People's Republic of China" written in Chinese characters, and its year of issue, 2018.
  • This coin’s weight and purity are guaranteed by the People's Bank of China.

The artwork on the coin’s obverse or front changes each year, yet the coin’s temple image on its backside has remained consistent since the Chinese Mint began issuing official gold bullion coins in 1982.

Chinese Mint official bullion coins are a hot collectable amongst physical silver and gold bullion buyers given their low maximum mintage and the coin’s illustrious quality.
